In 1975 Fine Surgical Instruments, Inc. was founded by Mr. M. Akram Mirza, in New York. Fine Surgical has created an excellent reputation in distributing and selling a wide assortment of surgical instruments imported from Germany, Pakistan, and Taiwan.

In 1985, Bernard J. Kalman joined Fine Surgical, as Vice-president, and brought new and exciting ideas to upgrade our German line of Operating Room instruments. He renamed the German instruments line “CROWN”, which was previously manufactured under  Crown Surgical Manufacturing Corp. The line is now manufactured in Tuttlingen and Soligen by German master craftsmen.

Mr. Kalman, recognized as one of the most knowledgeable experts in the industry, has worked diligently to expand the “CROWN” instrument line of Operating Room instruments. He also added a GS, General Surgery, Mid-grade line of affordable quality Instruments for general practice and operating room.

Fine Surgical Instruments, Inc. maintains a complete line of high quality Pakistan Surgical Instruments, under the brand name “ETAGE” for central supply and procedure trays. The “ETAGE” line is exclusively manufactured for Fine Surgical in a family owned plant in Sialkot, Pakistan. Our “ETAGE” Dental Instrument line is also manufactured at the plant.

Wire form disposable instruments line for procedure trays is manufactured in Taiwan for Fine Surgical under strict quality-controlled measures.
